It depends what you mean by handling maths. With the epub format for ebooks then math symbols is sometimes tricky, as the text is rendered in different ways, and can be scaled up and down depended on what text size you would like. This is not optimal for math obviously. However, if you instead read match symbols from a PDF file, which reMarkable also support, then the line and page breaks, distance between numbers or letters etc is always in the right place. reMarkable supports PDF and ePub file formats from the beginning.
